JESSICA DERENBECKER

Jessica is a partner in the firm’s New Orleans office. Upon joining the firm, she brought with her an extensive background in construction litigation from contractors’, subcontractors’, owners’, and sureties’ perspectives, all in a variety of forums, including federal court, state court, and arbitration. She is experienced in navigating both public and private projects from the project conception (bidding and negotiating), project performance, and through project conclusion (final judgment and appeal). She has also handled regulatory aspects of projects and building construction, including conformance to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) statutory requirements. She is also experienced in navigating False Claims Act (FCA) litigation. Jessica enjoys the critical thinking aspect of litigation, but with a practical approach to best serve the needs of the client.

Jessica primarily focuses her practice on surety and construction litigation, as well as certain transactional aspects involved on construction projects for sureties and contractors. Her experience with complex construction litigation, public bid protests, contract drafting and negotiation, administrative and regulatory claims, and lien law allows her to provide a keen eye toward her surety and construction litigation practice.
